SUBJECT: Fall County Commissioner/Supervisor Training
1. The Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs is hosting two County Commissioner Trainings for Fiscal Year 2027.
2. On Monday, October 12th from 9-4, IDVA will be providing Commissioner Training. The agenda is below. The Location for the first Commissioner Training will be at Camp Dodge Joint Maneuver Training Center, Building S70, Freedom Center, 7105 NW 70th Avenue, Johnston, Iowa 50131. Map is attached. We will provide Coffee and Snacks for the event.
3. The second opportunity for Commissioner Training will be in April with date/time/location TBD. The focus of the training will be Commissioner duties and responsibilities within Veterans Services at the County level and understanding what Iowa Code says and the Administrative Rules associated with Iowa Code.
4. Reimbursement for travel is authorized. Please work with your County Director / Administrator for all travel and mileage
reimbursements.

6. There is an open invitation for any and all County Supervisors to attend the Commissioner Trainings offered.
