Our beautiful Iowa Veterans Cemetery is one of our greatest treasures. Commanding a Raccoon River Valley hilltop boldly visible to any eastbound traveller on I-80, it boasts panoramic views of the beautiful rolling hills and painted sunsets of rural Dallas County, along with the serenity our nation's heroes earned.

Eligibility for burial is the same as those for other cemeteries operated under the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs standards. Any service member honorably separated from the service, their spouse, and eligible dependent children may be buried at the cemetery. Please contact the cemetery to determine eligibility.

Our cemetery is also the host for the official State of Iowa Veteran Ceremonies on Memorial Day and Veterans Day, and partners with non-profits to host other high-profile recognitions such as Wreaths Across America, and The Final Salute's mission to find final resting places for unclaimed remains of veterans.

The cemetery was dedicated on July 3, 2008.
