SUBJECT: “SAVE THE DATE” Fall County Veteran Service Officer Training

1. The Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs is hosting its annual Fall CVSO Training for Fiscal Year 2026.
2. Dates for the Training are October 21-23, 2025. Location will be the Stoney Creek Hotel and Event Center, 5291 Stoney
Creek Court, Johnston, Iowa 50131. Draft Training Agenda is attached.
3. A block of rooms have been secured at the Stoney Creek Hotel and Event Center and can be reserved on a first come first
serve basis at the following link: http://www.stoneycreekhotels.com/hotel/travel/desmoines/. Group Code:
2511veteran. Phone is 1-800-659-2220. When calling please request the group block or use the group code. Rooms are
reserved under this block until Monday, September 29th. After that date any rooms not reserved will be released to the
general public.
5. Another option for rooms is at Camp Dodge Billeting. You can contact Camp Dodge Billeting at 515-252-4238 and reserve
a room or you can go to the following link: https://www.iowanationalguard.com/l/ and do a new reservation request.
6. Travel accommodations are reimbursable and will require a Travel Reimbursement Form filled out following the training
and submitted through email to iowaveteransbenefits@iowa.gov Attn: Melissa Miller. Travel Reimbursement Form is
attached.
